Ex-Patriots Running Back Wins $1.2 Million, Disability Pay Boost

A former National Football League running back won increased monthly payments and more than $1.2 million in his lawsuit seeking boosted disability benefits from the league retirement plan, according to a post-trial judgment issued in a Texas federal court.

Judge Karen Gren Scholer awarded Michael Cloud retroactive disability benefits of more than $1 million, along with about $200,000 in interest. She also ordered the league plan to increase Cloud’s monthly payments, with post-judgment interest beginning in August.
