Ex-Ohio Judge Allegedly Misused $65,000 of Legal Group’s Funds

A retired Ohio judge faces action against his law license after attorney disciplinary authorities said he misappropriated more than $65,000 from an association for which he served as treasurer, using some of it on home repairs.

Michael T. Brandt, who served on the Franklin County Municipal Court, took the money from 2014 to 2022 while he served as treasurer of Association of Municipal/County Judges of Ohio Inc., according to a complaint filed Wednesday by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel with the state’s Board of Professional Conduct.
