Ex-NRA CEO LaPierre Unable to Escape $4 Million Repayment Order

Wayne LaPierre, the embattled former head of the National Rifle Association, failed Tuesday to persuade a New York appeals court to nix an order requiring him to repay more than $4.3 million to the organization and refrain from serving as a high-level officer for 10 years.

LaPierre, who will be 77 this year, argued the December 2024 trial court order, violates state law and his First Amendment rights. But a five-judge panel of the New York Supreme Court First Appellate Department said LaPierre’s arguments misconstrue state law.
