Ex-NFL Player Must Arbitrate Fraud Claims Over PPE Purchase

Former NFL linebacker Mark Barron must pursue in arbitration his claims that an importer of personal protective equipment scammed him out of $2 million, a federal court in Manhattan ruled Wednesday.

The purchase and sales agreement entered into between Barron, his company MSV Synergy LLC, and PAZ Global Ventures LLC includes a binding arbitration clause, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said.

The court rejected Barron’s argument that the arbitration clause is void due to an unmet precedent—that neither party was subject to any pending or threatened litigation.
