Ex-NBA Player Damon Jones to Plead Guilty in Gambling Case (2)

Former Cleveland Cavalier player and coach Damon Jones, who was charged with rigging poker games and giving inside information about National Basketball Association player injuries, will plead guilty to federal charges.

Jones’ plans were disclosed Thursday in court documents. He will become the first of more than 30 people charged in a November crackdown on sports-betting involving the NBA. Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier were among the other defendants. Both have pleaded not guilty.
