Meltzer Lippe Goldstein & Breitstone LLP was hit with a lawsuit from an elder law attorney who alleges the business law firm for which she once worked “is a hostile work environment for women.”
“In its 50-year history, the Firm has only ever had one female equity partner,” Laura Brancato said in her complaint filed Wednesday at the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Brancato said when she raised concerns about the firm’s culture and advocated for women in the workplace, she was retaliated against and ultimately fired despite her strong performance.
