Ex-Logistics Manager Must Bring US, Hong Kong Claims Abroad

An ex-account manager for Expeditors International can’t pursue his harassment suit in a Massachusetts district court over events that mostly occurred in Hong Kong, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

David Keane, who was employed by Expeditors International of Washington Inc. and Expeditors Hong Kong Limited, worked for 20 years in the US and five more years in Hong Kong. Keane alleged that Expeditors fired him because of his gender and national origin. He also claimed the company devised a “covert” plan to secretly reduce headcount without layoffs, and in doing so, “dismantled” critical safeguards against discriminatory practices and due process ...
