Longtime Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan was found guilty of bribery and wire fraud, a Chicago federal court jury said Wednesday.

The verdict, which came after more than a week of deliberations, brings to a close a criminal trial that started at the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in October of last year.
