Palm Management’s former general counsel alleges in a federal lawsuit that the restaurant brand owned by Landry’s Inc. sidelined her and breached her contract because she was Black.

Joy Vida Jones alleges that when she disclosed her lung cancer diagnosis in Jan. 2018, Palm’s executives began to diminish her job responsibilities in a way that they hadn’t done to other non-Black employees with “similar cancer diagnoses,” according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
