A former market development manager sued Heli America Inc., the US division of a Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer, alleging his ex-employer unlawfully discriminates against non-Chinese workers.
Jeffrey Ashmore sued Heli America for race and national origin discrimination, as well as retaliation, under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and federal anti-discrimination law, he says in a complaint Thursday. Ashmore alleges in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia he was terminated after raising concerns of racial discrimination to his superior.
Heli America didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
