A former communications director at WSP USA Inc. is alleging the engineering and professional services firm unlawfully terminated her employment after she took medical leave.

Monica Lewman-Garcia was employed by WSP USA and its predecessor from April 2019 until her termination on April 11, 2023. She took medical leave due to a serious health condition under the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 from February 6 to March 20, 2023, according to her complaint filed Thursday with the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
