Ex-CVS Worker Loses Suit Over Firing for Disclosing Patient Info

A former CVS Health Corp. pharmacist lost his retaliation lawsuit after the pharmacy demonstrated that his termination wasn’t substantially related to his travel reimbursement requests, and that the company had sufficient reason to fire him for showing personal health and identifying information to his wife.

Steve Quan’s repeated reimbursement requests didn’t appear to express a concern CVS policy was being violated, so he failed to allege he was engaged in protected activity, Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett ruled Monday in granting the pharmacy summary judgment.
