The ex-general counsel for the real estate company that appraised former President Donald Trump’s properties failed to convince a federal judge to let his defamation suit against Law.com advance, according to a Friday order.
Brett Soloway’s claim that a Law.com article improperly implied he was fired for his job performance in contempt proceedings in a New York’s lawsuit against the Trump Organization isn’t defamation per se, since a reasonable reader could come to a more innocent conclusion, the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said.
