Ex-Colombo Family Crime Boss Vic Orena Denied Fresh Sentencing

Victor “Little Vic” Orena, convicted of racketeering and murder charges for his leading role in the 1990s “Colombo Family War,” isn’t entitled to a fresh sentence after one of his lesser charges was vacated, the Second Circuit said Thursday.

Orena received multiple life sentences for the worst of his crimes but asked for resentencing after a lesser conviction—for using and carrying of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence—was vacated due to an intervening change in law.
