Carta Inc. must face most of a former executive’s suit saying the financial technology startup fired him for speaking up about sexism, a federal judge said.
Ex-Carta Chief Technology Officer Jerry O. Talton sufficiently alleged that Carta and its CEO retaliated against him and defamed him, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Thursday.
Judge Jessica G. L. Clarke denied Carta’s motion to dismiss Talton’s complaint on all claims but his publication of private fact allegation.
