A Jones Day associate who clerked for Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito—and whose name frequently appears in ex-White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s deposition before the Jan. 6 select committee—is Ohio’s next solicitor general.
Elliot Gaiser will start on Nov. 20, according to a news release from Attorney General Dave Yost’s (R) office. Gaiser, soon to be the 11th person to hold the Buckeye State’s solicitor general position, works in Jones Day’s Issues & Appeals practice in the firm’s Columbus office.
