Marquis ProCap System has standing to pursue a theft of trade secrets suit against Novozymes North America, an Illinois federal court has ruled, denying a defense motion to dismiss.
Marquis, a dry-mill ethanol facility, claims the enzymes and microbes supplier Novozymes breached the Illinois Trade Secrets Act and the Defend Trade Secrets Act. Novozymes allegedly used the same team and scientist in an announced exclusive partnership with a competitor after it had been in discussions with Marquis for several months, according to the ruling Monday by the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
