Teva Among Firms Sued by New York Town Over PFAS Pollution (1)

Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. is among more than a dozen businesses that Nyack, N.Y., sued, alleging their manufacturing facilities contaminated the municipality’s water source with so-called forever chemicals.

Nyack is looking to recover the cost of a water treatment system to remove per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, from the Hackensack River and its tributaries. Its lawsuit alleges drug developer Teva and other manufacturers knew toxic materials were leeching from their facilities, according to a Feb. 24 amended complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
