ESPN Sheds Former Stanford Football Coach’s Defamation Claims

ESPN Inc. beat a defamation lawsuit brought by former Stanford University head football coach Troy Taylor over articles it published last year regarding workplace misconduct investigations.

The outlet’s reporting “presents a substantially true summary” of two investigations into Taylor and his treatment of female staff, Magistrate Judge Virginia K. DeMarchi of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said in a Tuesday order dismissing the case.
