ESPN Settles With Video-Privacy Claimants in Arbitration Dispute

ESPN and and its parent the Walt Disney Co. have reached a settlement with more than 3,500 people seeking to arbitrate their individual claims against the sports-media giant alleging violations of the Video Privacy Protection Act.

ESPN and attorneys from Labaton Keller Sucharow LLP, a plaintiffs’ firm that has pioneered the tactic of mass arbitration, filed a notice of settlement and a motion for a stay of cross petitions to compel arbitration Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
