Erin Baker’s Hit With Deception Class Action Over Protein Labels

Baker’s Breakfast Cookies Inc., which does business as Erin Baker’s Wholesale Baked Goods, doesn’t include the percent of daily value for protein in the nutrition facts of its granola and breakfast cookie products, a proposed consumer class action alleged.

The products include “prominent” claims about how much protein is in the products on the front of their packaging but Erin Baker’s doesn’t include a statement of how much protein per serving is a percent daily value, the complaint filed Aug. 23 in the Northern District of California said.
