Erik Prince’s Defamation Suit Over Intercept Article Dismissed

Blackwater founder Erik Prince lost a round in his defamation lawsuit over an Intercept article detailing his alleged involvement with semi-private Russian military forces, when a Manhattan federal judge dismissed his case.

The lawsuit challenges an August 2020 article from the online nonprofit news site The Intercept, which portrayed Prince as meeting with a top official of Russia’s Wagner Group and offering his mercenary forces to support the firm’s operations in Libya and Mozambique.
