Epoch Times Fails to Avoid Suit Over Info Sharing with Facebook

The Epoch Times Association Inc. must face a proposed class action alleging it shared information with Facebook about videos viewed by visitors to its website in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act, a federal court ruled Thursday.

Plaintiff Lawrence Czarnionka says in the lawsuit that the Epoch Times shared his video-watching information with Facebook, now known as Meta Platforms Inc., after installing the Facebook pixel on the website, a snippet of computer code allowing the company to collect information about how visitors interact with the site.
