The US Environmental Protection Agency must take a renewed look at emissions review methods for municipal solid waste landfills, according to a consent decree between the agency and a conservation groups.
The EPA has failed to examine its emissions methods to estimate carbon monoxide, volatile organic compounds, and oxides of nitrogen from landfills for three years, Environmental Integrity Project, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, and the Sierra Club alleged in a lawsuit.
