A former Environmental Law & Policy Center worker claims she was fired over her requests to work remotely due to her disability.
While Samantha Suarez’s accommodation requests were treated as a burden and she was forced to “justify every request,” another employee without a disability was granted remote work privileges so he could relocate, Suarez alleged in a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Suarez, who was a digital communications strategist at the legal advocacy group, alleges the center repeatedly ignored her accommodation requests as Suarez faced hostility from her supervisor.
