FinancialApps LLC asked a federal trial court to sanction Envestnet Inc. for allegedly destroying evidence in a suit claiming the company misappropriated FinApps’ trade secrets to develop a replica product that generates financial reports for issuing loans.
FinApps alleges Envestnet and its subsidiary Yodlee Inc. deliberately destroyed “data and information core to the operation of Risk Insight, the software at issue” in the case, according to a filing in the US District Court for the District of Delaware, made public Thursday.
