Entenmann’s ‘All Butter’ Ambiguity Cleared Up by Ingredient List

Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc. shed a proposed class action Thursday over its Entenmann’s “All Butter Loaf Cake,” as a New York federal court deemed the packaging as a whole not deceptive.

Monica Boswell alleged that the description is misleading because the cake contains not only butter, but also soybean oil and artificial flavors.

The phrase “all butter” is ambiguous, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
