Enerco Group Inc. was hit with a proposed class action alleging that DeWalt portable cordless heaters can overheat and catch fire, posing a fire and burn hazard.
Alan Purdy, who sued April 11 in the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, seeks to represent a nationwide class and Ohio subclass of purchasers of the defective heaters. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received nearly a dozen reports of thermal incidents involving the heaters, which have been recalled, the complaint said.
