End Solar Company’s Challenge to Vineyard Wind Project, Feds Say

The owner of a solar company can’t rely on a theoretical worry that a wind project off Martha’s Vineyard will harm his business to support a lawsuit over the federal government’s approval of the project, the Biden administration told a Massachusetts federal court.

Thomas Melone, owner of Allco Renewable Energy Limited, is challenging the adequacy of the government’s environmental review of the Vineyard Wind project. But he acknowledged his dispute isn’t with the project or any other offshore wind project, the federal government told the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
