Emory University Professors Sue Over Gaza Protest Arrests

Three professors are suing Emory University for violating its policies and procedures when it condoned their arrests during what was reportedly a pro-Palestine on-campus protest.

The university “did nothing to help” professors Noëlle McAfee, Emil’ Keme, and Caroline Fohlin when they were arrested in April 2024 and later harassed by a national conservative group, according to a Thursday complaint filed in Georgia’s State Court of Dekalb County.

Rather, Emory has “continued to approve of the Plaintiffs’ arrests and prosecutions long after objective evidence showed the arrests to be baseless.”
