The federal law that prohibits felons from possessing firearms and ammunition is constitutional under the US Supreme Court’s most recent Second Amendment precedents, a federal appeals court ruled Monday.
The Atlanta-based US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit upheld the conviction of Andre Dubois, a felon who attempted to ship a box containing firearms from a store in Georgia.
The ruling reaffirms its previous precedents upholding the felon gun ban and aligns with the Ninth Circuit, which similarly upheld the law in a ruling last month.
