Elevator Part Supplier Must Face Worker Race Bias, Reprisal Suit

An elevator parts manufacturer based in Queens, New York, must confront a lawsuit alleging it discriminated and retaliated against Black warehouse workers who were forced to work in dangerous conditions.

Meep New York Inc.—which does business as Mega Elevator Parts—can be held liable for race bias, whistleblower retaliation, and hostile work environment claims under federal, state, and New York City law, the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York said in a Monday opinion rejecting the manufacturer’s dismissal bid.
