Elevator Manufacturer Escapes Black Woman’s Retaliation Lawsuit

The termination of a Black woman from her job working for an elevator manufacturer didn’t stem from her complaints of harassment and discrimination, a majority of a federal appeals court judges found.

Pearlie Hill failed to present sufficient direct evidence of retaliation from TK Elevator Manufacturing Inc., dooming her claims, Judge Danny J. Boggs said for the majority of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit on Wednesday in an unpublished opinion.
