Electronics Retailer Escapes Ex-Salesman’s Firing Notice Lawsuit

A former kiosk worker for the electronics business Car Toys was unable to convince a federal judge that his lawsuit challenging the terms of his termination should continue.

Jason Karroll’s proposed class action lawsuit against Car Toys was dismissed Monday for failing to plausibly allege the company violated the Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, according to an opinion in the US District Court for the District of South Carolina. Judge Donald C. Coggins Jr. also denied Karroll’s request to file a third amended complaint, calling the effort “futile.”
