Electric Transformer Manufacturer Ordered to Work With Union

An electrical transformer manufacturer violated federal labor laws and must recognize and bargain with its workers’ lawfully elected union, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday.

VTCU Corp. violated the National Labor Relations Act by interfering and refusing to bargain with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302, according to an opinion. The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit denied VTCU’s petition challenging the union’s election and granted IUOE’s cross-petition to enforce its order to commence bargaining.
