Families of Mexican American students will be able to proceed with a case alleging systemic discrimination on the basis of race by the El Paso Independent School District after it closed three elementary schools in a working-class neighborhood.
The group produced enough evidence to sufficiently establish a “genuine issue concerning every essential element of the case,” the US District Court for the Western District of Texas said Monday.
