Eighth Circuit Rejects New Look at Transgender Bias Law Case

The US Health and Human Services Department won’t get another chance in the Eighth Circuit to defend an antidiscrimination law that Christian health-care entities say would force them to provide care to transgender individuals in violation of their religious beliefs.

The court Tuesday denied HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra’s alternative motions for a panel rehearing or a rehearing by all the court’s active judges. The court didn’t give a reason for its action.
