Ecobee Hits Online Retailer With Trademark Suit Over Smart Tech

An online retailer allegedly infringed the trademark of Canada-based smart technology manufacturer Ecobee Technologies ULC by selling its products without its permission, according to a federal lawsuit.

Ecobee sued Oso Products Inc. for advertising, displaying, and selling its trademarked products on retail websites such as Walmart.com and Amazon.com without its permission, according to the complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Ecobee is a manufacturer of smart thermostats, remote sensors, and cameras for residential and commercial use, the complaint said.
