Eastdil Claims Ex-Staff Poached Deals, Clients for Newmark (1)

Eastdil Secured sued six former employees from its California commercial real estate staff, accusing them of stealing proprietary information to poach deals and clients in their new jobs at rival Newmark Group.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in California state court, Eastdil said the departing employees retained and in some cases emailed themselves confidential company documents that they’ve used at Newmark.

In one instance, an Eastdil customer canceled its listing with the company and brought the deal to market with Newmark, according to the complaint.
