East River Medical Imaging PC failed to protect the information of more than 600,000 patients that was exposed in a September data breach, a proposed federal class action said.
Rachael Kuecher alleged that East River Medical Imaging failed to encrypt sensitive data and failed to implement reasonable, industry-standard data security practices.
Information exposed in the breach included names, contact information, insurance information, Social Security numbers, and medical treatment information, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
