Duke University has been hit with a lawsuit alleging it retaliated against a male Ph.D. student after he was assaulted by one of its male faculty members.
John Doe says Duke launched a Title IX investigation in the fall of 2021 after he was diagnosed with PTSD following the assault, but that the investigation “dragged on” for “an unacceptably long window of 20 months.” A Ph.D. coordinator said in Nov. 2021 that Doe would have to enroll in a course taught by the accused professor in order to maintain progress toward his Ph.D., according to the complaint filed in the ...
