Duke Energy Carolinas Hit With Class Action Over May Breach (1)

Duke Energy Carolinas LLC negligently failed to protect the personal information of thousands of people that was exposed in a May data breach, a proposed federal class action said.

Lead plaintiff Matthew Saunders alleged that Duke Energy breached its duties under common law, contract law, industry standards, and the Federal Trade Commission Act to implement reasonable and adequate data security measures.
