Driven Brands Unit Sued for Bias, Retaliation by Fired Latina

A Mexican-American woman has sued a unit of Driven Brands Holdings Inc., the parent company of the Maaco USA autobody and the Meineke USA muffler shop franchises, claiming it discriminated against her based on her race and subjected her to a hostile work environment.

Kayla Moncayo, a former Senior Manager, Employee Relations at Driven Brands Shared Services LLC, claims that during a week-long team building seminar she and her co-workers were made to take part in a “psychological safety” session during which they were asked for their personal views on the company’s workplace diversity.
