A student group at Texas A&M University sued school officials Wednesday for violating their free speech protections by canceling a planned drag show.
The federal court lawsuit asks a judge to issue an order allowing the group, Texas A&M Queer Empowerment Council, to proceed with putting on Draggieland, an annual student-funded show that had been set for March 27 before officials canceled it last week.
