A settlement between DraftKings Inc. and a class of players’ family members who allege the company violated their states’ gambling statutes was approved to move forward by a federal judge in Massachusetts.
The proposed settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate and in the best interests of the settlement class, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts said Feb. 18 in a preliminary finding.
The agreement calls for DraftKings to “adopt a process” to allow family members of players who lost money in DraftKings daily fantasy sports to put a limit on the players’ use of the site.
