Oilfield equipment provider Downing Wellhead Equipment LLC filed suit in federal court against Intelligent Wellhead Systems Inc., alleging the company is willfully infringing on its fracking method patents.
IWS’ “inVision Technology Platform” has incorporated elements that infringe two of Downing’s patents for hydraulic fracturing, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Colorado Wednesday.
The patents are for a plan “to hydraulically fracture a plurality of oil and a gas wells,” involving multiple wells and a sequence involving the operation of multiple valves.
