Double-Dipping Pension Exception Allowed for NJ Confirmed Judges

New Jersey’s rules discouraging “double-dipping” agreements for public workers switching jobs don’t apply to judges, a state appeals panel ruled Thursday.

Jill Mayer, a former state criminal prosecutor and acting Camden County Prosecutor, should have been allowed her pension benefits that the state denied her despite planning, ahead of her retirement, with Gov. Phil Murphy’s (D) office on her nomination to a trial court bench.
