Dotdash Meredith Customers Drop Suit Over Facebook Info Sharing

Three consumers dropped their proposed federal class action alleging that publisher Dotdash Meredith Inc. shared their video-viewing histories with Meta Platforms Inc. in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.

The consumers alleged that Dotdash incorporated online tracking technology from Meta’s Facebook unit on its People and Entertainment Weekly websites, enabling the tech company to collect information about videos they watched without their knowledge or consent.
