Dotdash Media Hit With Wiretapping Suit Over Google Info Sharing

Digital and print publisher Dotdash Media Inc. helped Google LLC wiretap the communications of visitors to its health website without their consent in violation of state and federal privacy laws, a proposed federal class action said.

Tyler Maghoney alleged that Dotdash incorporated online tracking tools from Google and other software providers on the Verywell Health website, which allowed Dotdash and the providers to gather information arising from user interactions with the site and analyze the information for use in targeted advertising campaigns.
