Dollar Tree Gets Ex-Worker’s Wages Suit Sent to Arbitration

Dollar Tree Stores Inc. demonstrated that a former store manager, who alleges the company’s misclassification of her job led to unpaid overtime hours, consented to a 2020 arbitration agreement and received proper notice, a federal judge said.

The US District Court for the Central District of California granted Dollar Tree’s motion to compel arbitration because the company gave Gabriela Estrada reasonable notice of the 2020 arbitration agreement. Even if she didn’t receive the notice, the company also made clear that the agreement would go into effect for all employees after a specified date, Judge Fred W. Slaughter said.
